“Look for the Helpers,” advised Mr. Rogers for children facing troubled times. As the impact of COVID-19 compelled schools to close, the helpers at USU quickly responded. Sound Beginnings parent Traci Rainey said teachers "didn't miss a beat" in transitioning intervention from the classroom to her home using teleintervention.

The Emma Eccles Jones Early Childhood Education and Research Center (EEJ ECERC) was opened in 2010 to bring together scientists and educators at Utah State University who focus on research and services related to early childhood education, elementary education, psychology, communicative disorders, deaf education, family and human development, and special education. The Center fosters interdisciplinary collaboration among EEJ ECERC faculty and staff and the Edith Bowen Laboratory School, other departments at Utah State University and other universities in Utah, the Utah State Office of Education, and school districts and parent organizations throughout the state.
